    The Listening Broker

Cynthia DiTallo Starks is a professional listener. Before becoming a real estate agent, she was an executive speechwriter on staff at Verizon, IBM and United Technologies.

In that role, Cynthia learned to listen closely to her clients as they spoke about what they hoped to convey in their speeches, and how they wanted their audiences to think, feel and act when they finished.

Cynthia brings that same commitment to her real estate clients. She listens closely to understand your wants, needs and concerns, your budget, timeframe, and more. She seeks to learn what’s truly important to you in a home – a particular setting, architectural style, or neighborhood amenities, for example. Whether you’re buying, selling or building new, Cynthia will carefully listen and follow through on every commitment until you’re happy and satisfied. Her number one job is to protect your interests and your finances throughout the transaction. She takes that very seriously, but also strives to make the process pleasant, painless and positive.

Cynthia attends ongoing real estate classes to keep her knowledge and expertise current. She has recently become a Certified New Home Specialist and Residential Construction Consultant. She embraces both traditional and new ways to communicate via social media, YouTube and podcasts, and keeps the Realtor Code of Ethics front and center on her desk.

A Connecticut Yankee by birth and a graduate of Albertus Magnus College, Cynthia has lived in Zionsville since 2006, and feels at home in the heartland.

She comes by her love of real estate and home design naturally. Her Dad began his career as a furniture refinisher and re-upholsterer, eventually opening his own retail store, The American Colonial Furniture Shop, in North Haven, Connecticut.

During her growing-up years, Cynthia enjoyed moving into new homes and helping her Mom and Dad decorate and furnish them. It wasn't unusual for them to swap out furniture and other decor every year or so, always seeking to update and improve their surroundings. Today, Cynthia loves to try new looks and furnishings in her own home, and enjoys helping sellers stage their homes for sale.

As part of getting to know the area and its people, Cynthia wrote for the Zionsville Times Sentinel for two years, joined organizations including the Italian Heritage Society of Indiana, and is a parishioner and volunteer at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church.

Cynthia has written a romantic comedy called No Time for Charm, and is at work on a mystery novel set in Italy. She enjoys swimming, biking, singing, dancing, piano, movies, reading, and walking Shadow, her 12-year-old black Lab. Her son, Joe, is a student at Purdue.

Cynthia looks forward to talking – and more importantly – listening to you.
